Soul Link Nuzlocke Rules:
-
Basic Nuzlocke Rules: Only the first encounter per area can be caught. If a Pokémon faints, it's considered "dead" and must be boxed permanently.
- Nicknamed: All Pokémon must be nicknamed
-
No Legendary Pokémon: Legendary Pokémon cannot be caught or used.
-
Only Held Items in Battle: Healing or boosting items are not allowed during battles—only held items are permitted.
-
Set Battle Style Only: All battles are played on Set mode, with no free switches after knocking out an opponent's Pokémon.
- Level Caps: Level Caps will be set for the next gym leader/elite four battle over the next rival/boss fight. We try not to over level for the rival/boss fights but sometimes it can't be helped. Pokemon over the level cap are unusable
Chaos Link Cards:
During the stream, viewers can purchase Sabotage or Guardian cards to make our run even tougher! These cards introduce fun challenges and unpredictable twists—like forcing a switch, banning a move, or killing or reviving one of our Pokemon pairs. Each card brings chaos to our journey, giving YOU the power to shake things up!
We will try to do as the card says ASAP!

THE CHAOS LINK TWIST
-
All Pokémon are caught in linked pairs
-
Each Pokémon has one specific partner
-
The pair is treated as a single unit for most rules
-
Typically - if one Pokémon in a linked pair faints, both Pokémon die
-
Some card effects can cause Pokémon to become unpaired
-
Players may re-link Pokémon that are in the unpaired box
VIEWER-CONTROLLED GAMEPLAY
Viewers can influence the run in real time using interactive cards.
CARD TYPES
-
Sabotage Cards – hinder the players (ability swaps, partner swaps, forced unpairing, item locks, and other chaos effects)
-
Guardian Cards – help or protect the players (prevent deaths, allow limited healing, restore or protect links, cancel sabotage effects)
Cards resolve immediately when played (within reason), unless stated otherwise.
CARD LIMITS & COUNTERS
-
A maximum of 5 cards may be active at one time
-
If a card is countered, it does not count toward the active card limit, allowing additional cards to be played
-
Counter Cards can negate Sabotage or Guardian cards per description
-
Counter Cards are rarity-based:
-
Common
-
Rare
-
Epic
-
Legendary
-
-
A Counter must match or exceed the rarity of the card being countered
ELITE FOUR RULES
-
Before the Elite Four, there is a 10-minute window where viewers may play up to 5 cards
-
No cards may be played once Elite Four battles begin
-
Any active effects must be resolved before entering the Elite Four or appropriately during Elite Four Battles
